A* Episode 4 is now up on the Flash Portal. This is a direct continuation of the flashback sequence begun in episode 3, where Vero and his buddy Sig are facing a dire situation in a remote star system.

Or...hmm... Looks like I was able to get over 20 in there; I got a big scary error message when I submitted them, but they showed up anyway! Then I deleted them, and it took a while for them to disappear. I guess they're still working the kinks out.

Episode 4 of Supermassive Black Hole A* isn't that far off now. If you're impatient, check out some teaser snippets I just posted; they'll uh I guess make you even more impatient hopefully, yay!

A* Episode 3 is now up on the Flash Portal. Thanks to everyone who's given me feedback on this sci-fi animated webcomic thing so far, and I hope you'll enjoy this episode as well. This one was delayed by my going on a promotional junket, but that's all done now, so the next episode--which will be the second half of episode 3's flashback story--should be with us in just about three weeks or so.

Finally realized I was using Flash's (crappy) default sound compression settings; I've corrected that, and upgraded the audio quality of A* episodes 1 & 2. Episode 3 should be out in this coming week, and the audio should be nice for that one, although it could be tight under the 10 MB limit since it's already at 7 MB now, before I've added music. I suppose I can bump the sound quality down a notch if I need to, but it just sounds so nice as it is now, that'd be a shame :p (and I'm only using 32 kbps and "Best" now, but that's quite a step up from the default 16 kbps and "Fast" or whatever it was, bleh!).

I've been compiling various art related to A* in a thread on the Newgrounds forum for a while now:

Got some high-res remixes, concept art, layout doodles, etc in there.

I've also just added my entry, plus some variants (page back once to see the original entry version w/ titles and stuff) for poxpower's "Ng Miniposters Girl" contest. There are some cool entries in there, give it a look!

Following some insightful comments by frozenm and others, I've redone the timing in A* Episode 2 to be based around the spoken lines rather than the subtitles; it had been based around the subs because episode 2 was originally done without any sound at all. Anyway I was able to weed out over 90 seconds of slow time (1/10th of a second here, 1/10th of a second there...) and tidy up the lip-syncing, so it's a much snappier viewing experience now. Thanks to those who've left comments, they're helpful!
